BRL Civil Engineering is proud to have supported Meldrum Construction with the installation of concrete flooring slabs and a power float finish at Haithwaite Farmstead, part of a landmark regeneration project transforming the site into a vibrant hub for ecotourism, culture, and heritage on the historic Scotland and England border.
Working on a live, fully operational farm, our team delivered a high quality concrete pour and finish as part of a barn development that blends agricultural tradition with forward thinking design. The precision and finish achieved on site ensure durability, safety, and long term performance, forming the literal foundation of this ambitious project.
The wider Haithwaite vision is to create a sustainable, community focused rural destination that celebrates local history and champions innovation. Once complete, the site will feature holiday accommodation, a farm shop, café, wellness centre, visitor hub, and education spaces.
Beyond construction, the project will strengthen local employment, support biodiversity through rewilding, and promote sustainable land use in line with the Borderlands Growth Deal.
Our involvement at Haithwaite reflects BRL’s commitment to delivering technically excellent civil engineering works that underpin projects of real social and environmental value.
